>> feel

O.K. Your hand brushes against the nightstand. You note delightedly that the mattress is soft and you just want to sink back to sleep... But NO! The adventure has already started, and as Sherlock would say the game is afoot!

An alarm clock can be heard ringing somewhere - "BRRRRIINNNNGGG!"

You rub your eyes, and blink - still, everything remains blurry...

You rub your eyes, and blink - still, everything remains blurry...

<------------------------------------->

>> put on glasses

Ahhh! That's better - things are much clearer now!

An alarm clock can be heard ringing somewhere - "BRRRRIINNNNGGG!"

Looking around, you find that you are in the ship's cabin, onboard a cabin cruiser. Attached to the featureless starboard wall is a small fixed nightstand, and a bunk bed.

On the portside wall is a large cheap looking painting, and a fairly large and closed porthole. Looking up you see a small wooden-bladed fan hanging from the mouldy ceiling. At your feet, in the ship's deck, is a small water filled drain.

Facing towards the bow you see a rich looking mahogany wall that is about waist high. Above it in the plain gray wall are inset picture windows that give a view of the front of the ship. The bottom edges of the windows are located just above the planks of the exterior bow deck.

The view towards the stern is bisected by the backside of a ladder. Other than that the opening is unobstructed.

Note: You can cause the playback to stop at anytime by inserting a #Stop as a line in the file.
The #Stop must be the first thing on the line to function properly.

Note: You can add a line #fast and the game will not display output during playback. The trace.txt though will still be updated.

Note: During playback, save game files will be overwritten.

You've just entered the foyer of the Scott Adams Grand Adventure palace. A small blue man walks you over to the wall, upon which is a large ornate gold sign. You start reading...

Warning trespassers will be violated!

Hmmm, you think, maybe it should say violaters will be trespassed! No that's not it either, Oh well you mumble, not important. You continue reading...

Remember to use this window's scroll bar or the PAGE UP and PAGE DOWN keys. Sometimes text will not all fit in the visible area. Note you will see a <-----> at the end of each turn. Please keep paging down until you finally see this showing.

Please look at the bottom of this window right now, I'll wait...

If you don't see the <----------> then try hitting PAGE DOWN. You may have to hit a few times. Once again I'll wait for you...

Well that didn't take you long at all! This isn't really the end of the text so you'll find another marker down below. Let's keep going...

A file called TRACE.TXT will be created inside your game's directory. It can be used as a playback file from the option menu. Since it is a text file you can open in any word processor and edit it. It has more information inside it.

On the command line you can also use the up, down, left, and right arrow keys. These will help in editing current commands or scrolling back through commands you have previously entered.

You can change the size of the main game window by grabbing a corner with your mouse and dragging it. Do this when the window is not maximized.

The game will remember your favorite setttings and restart the way you left it. The first time though it will start with the windows maximized.

You can change the size of the fonts used in the display. See the OPTIONS above.

Also note you do not need to use the mouse to play. Any question boxes that popup can be answered by typing the first letter of the response. Such as Y for YES.

Please type START GAME and you will be off on your adventure...

A shortcut you can use is to

1) Hit any letter key to put focus on the bottom window,

2) Hit the UP ARROW key

3) Hit ENTER key
